TCL says the smartwatch not only acts as a care tool but provides seniors with a feeling of autonomy allowing them to stay in touch with family and friends.
IFA 2019 continues with another mobile announcement from TCL, the TCL MOVETIME MT40S. The MOVETIME is a smartwatch directed to the seniors among us. TCL says this smartwatch was created as a specific tool to provide care and support to seniors. TCL says the smartwatch not only acts as a care tool but provides seniors with a feeling of autonomy allowing them to stay in touch with family and friends. With 4G connectivity seniors will have video-calling, photo-sharing, and voice messaging right on the wrist.
Equipped with geolocation, customized geofencing, and SOS features, the watch can ensure seniors the peace of mind knowing help is never far away. Staying healthy and active is also made easier for seniors with its activity tracker, sleep monitor, and reminders for appointments and medications. All of these are packaged in an easy-to-use design with a simple large-font interface that’s intuitive.
“Globally, the senior population is growing faster than all other age groups combined and by 2050, one in six people will be over age 65 ,” said Peter Lee, General Manager of Global Sales and Marketing for TCL Communication.
“Senior family members deserve daily care and connection while maintaining their independence. With features allowing family, friends, and caretakers to stay in touch with seniors conveniently, TCL’s MOVETIME Family Watch MT40S is the perfect device for the elderly to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle.”

The MOVETIME not only offers 4G connectivity with video and voice to stay in touch with family. It also offers a large and easy to read font and user interface that is clean and simple, perfect for seniors who may not be tech-savvy.
Seniors and their families can feel at ease knowing they’re safe with the MOVETIME Family Watch’s locator app. If seniors feel unwell or lose their way, their family can easily navigate to them using third party maps and precise geolocation.
Family members can always keep track of their loved ones using the watch’s customizable safe zones, notifications and location history. If there’s an emergency, seniors can press MOVETIME’s power key for three seconds to instantly send SOS messages to preset numbers to get immediate help.
Staying in shape has never been easier for seniors than with the MOVETIME Family Watch’s suite of activity and health features. Users can record steps, calories burned and distance walked, while family members can view their activity using the TCL Connect app.
With the watch’s sleep monitor to track waking time, sleep duration, sleep cycle as well as time in deep sleep and light sleep, seniors can ensure they’re resting as well as they’re exercising. Using the TCL Connect app, family members can also set up alarms remotely to remind senior members to take medicine and go to a doctor’s appointment or other activities.
Seniors can also get reminders to stretch and move throughout the day if they’ve been sedentary for long periods of time. In the near future, the watch will also be able to integrate with TCL smart home eco-system and control smart home devices right from the wrist.
